    Thank you for your input.

We will talk about it, however, we beliebe that module browser view and project view are not the perfect solution altogether. It is likely that we will do a major overhaul for these two (where this problem would be addressed, of course) before we will tackle some small feature like this on its own. However, we don’t have a time frame on this yet.

    Best Regards,
    The Ranorex Product Management Team

Thank you all for your input.

Starting with Ranorex 9.3, you are now allowed to use non-unique names for test cases and SmartFolders. This isn’t as good as really having full reusability of test cases (I know), but it should help you in some instances. For example, having the “same” SmartFolder in several places now is easier, you don’t have to rename them after copy/pasting them.

    Best Regards,
Thomas from the Ranorex Product Management Team

A better solution would be to allow multi-select of reports so you can delete several at once.

    Thank you for your input.

We have this topic on our backlog for quite some time already, but since we have never received a lot of interest in this, it will likely stay there forever. We see why this would be a cool feature, but there are enough tools out there that do this better than we could.

Thank you again for your input.

We are currently closely investigating this is part of a larger change for the repository view.

Basically, we have two options: Making sorting only on view level, or on data level. Both has advantages and disadvantages. If we only do it on view level, the changes through sorting won’t be persistent, if we do it on data level, they will be persistent. In the first case, a new element would automatically appear in the “correct” location, in the latter case it would appear at the bottom and in order to get the list sorted again, you would have to sort the list again. If it is only on view level, you can’t manually rearrange elements anymore, they would be sorted and that’s it.

What behavior would you as a user expect or prefer?

    Best Regards,
Thomas from the Ranorex Product Management Team

    Thank you for your input.

Due to technical limitations it is not possible at all to continue a finished test run from a specified point, because there is no runtime information available anymore after you see a finished report.

However, it might be possible to do something like this in maintenance mode. As soon as we touch maintenance mode again, we will evaluate if this feature also makes sense in there.

Thank you again for your input.

We have investigated this, and also created a working prototype. However, it required some weird hacks in the background, and also the usability (special syntax) felt weird. We decided to not ship this feature for now until we can come up with a solution that feels better.

    Thank you for your input.

For Ranorex 9.2 we have an update for the Data Binding workflow and UI planned. The DataConnectors dialog is not part of this update, however, please tell us (after the release of course) if this new UI does make a difference for you and if it solves some of your problems already, or if we should still consider this suggestion.

If you are interested in getting a first glimpse into this early, please consider joining the Ranorex Beta program. The 9.2 beta will be released around the start of September.

    Best Regards,
Thomas from the Ranorex Product Management Team
